Well, as most know, “the term 'seventh art' is assigned to the cinema. [...] That reference is only indicative, each of the arts is characterized by basic elements that formats your language and classified as follows: Music (1st Art), Painting (2nd Art), Sculpture (3rd Art), Architecture (4th Art), Literature (5th Art), Choreography (6th Art) and Cinema (7th Art). [...]”. This excerpt — maybe outdated —, taken from Wikipedia (direct link, text in Portuguese), I confess that made me stay in doubt.
Many sites I visited by referring to the subject, none of them had common information among themselves. Some, for example, qualified Architecture as 3rd and not 4th Art; others made reference to the Dance and Theater as members from the 7 Arts, etc.
And then, I went into Fancisco Mendes' blog, Pasmos Filtrados (something like “Amazed Filtered” ) and I read a post (also in Portuguese) that spoke about the matter. Among many interesting things I read, one, in particular, clarified the issue: “[...] [Between the Seven Arts], there isn't a basic hierarchy (only the cinema occupies a known position, the seventh), however each person can try to sort them. [...]”. In other words: the classification from the 7 Arts is made as to the importance of each on the personal life in certain individual; it is a matter of taste, not imposition.
Therefore, I personally classify the Painting and Drawing as 5th Art. Even be my preferred form of expression, I believe my inspiration of a drawing and/or painting, comes, in the first moment, from Music (1st Art), the Dance (2nd Art), Architecture (3rd Art) and from Literature (4th Art). These first four forms of expressions are the most sought by me at the time to create some drawing, mainly the Music, which pass to me incredibles sensations and messages; it is one of my main tools for work. But I emphasize here that this is a personal way to see things. Each one is individual and, therefore, has a different way of living and communicate. Irrespective of the position in which each Art is, I believe that, in the end, there isn't more important than the other. They communicate with each other and are intertwined; one doesn't survive without the presence of another. And it is their harmonious whole, not their personalities, which builds human being.

Bom, como a maioria sabe, “o termo 'sétima arte' é designado ao cinema. [...] Essa referência é apenas indicativa, cada uma das artes é caracterizada pelos elementos básicos que formatam sua linguagem e classificadas da seguinte forma: Música (1ª Arte), Pintura (2ª Arte), Escultura (3ª Arte), Arquitetura (4ª Arte), Literatura (5ª Arte), Coreografia (6ª Arte) e Cinema (7ª Arte). [...]”. Esse trecho — talvez desatualizado —, retirado do Wikipédia (link direto), confesso que me fez ficar em dúvida.
Muitos sites que visitei fazendo referência ao assunto, nenhum deles tinham informações comuns entre si. Alguns, por exemplo, classificavam a Arquitetura como 3ª e não 4ª Arte; outros faziam referência à Dança e ao Teatro como integrantes das 7 Artes, entre outros.
Até que caí no blog do Fancisco Mendes, o Pasmos Filtrados e li um post dele que falava do assunto. Dentre muitas coisas interessantes que li, uma, em especial, esclareceu a questão: “[...] [Entre as Sete Artes], não existe uma hierarquia basilar (apenas o cinema ocupa uma posição conhecida, a Sétima), no entanto cada pessoa pode tentar ordená-las. [...]”. Ou seja: a classificação das 7 Artes é feita conforme a importância de cada uma na vida pessoal de determinado indivíduo; é uma questão de gosto e não de imposição.
Eu, portanto, classifico pessoalmente a Pintura e Desenho como a 5ª Arte. Mesmo sendo a minha forma preferida de expressão, acredito eu que minha inspiração para um desenho e/ou pintura, venha, no primeiro momento, da Música (1ª Arte), da Dança (2ª Arte), da Arquitetura (3ª Arte) e da Literatura (4ª Arte). Essas quatro primeiras formas de expressões são as que eu mais busco no momento de criar algum desenho, principalmente a Música, que me passa sensações e mensagens incríveis; é uma das minhas principais ferramentas de trabalho. Mas enfatizo aqui que isso é uma forma pessoal de enxergar as coisas. Cada um é cada um e, portanto, possui uma maneira diferente de viver e de se comunicar. Independente da posição em que cada Arte se encontra, acredito eu que, no final, não há uma mais importante que a outra. Elas se comunicam e estão interligadas entre si; uma não sobrevive sem a presença de outra. E é o conjunto harmônico delas, não suas individualidades, que constrói o ser humano.</sup>
